Saanja keeps almost everything on your phone, including its AI chats and any photos you add. This policy explains the small amount of information it handles, and the few times it talks to the network at all.
Saanja has no account, no sign-in, and no server of ours. Your dates, chats with Ask Saanja, and photos you add all stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and we cannot see any of it.
Your events, their titles, dates, colours, icons, and settings, are saved locally using standard on-device storage. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it immediately, because it does not exist anywhere else. To keep a copy, use Back up my data (below).
In Settings you can back up your data to a plain file and restore it later. Tapping Back up my data writes a file on your device and hands it to the iOS share sheet, where you save it (Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, anywhere) is your choice, handled by iOS, not by us. Restoring reads a file you pick. The file is created on your device and never sent to us; if you save it to iCloud Drive, Apple stores it in your own iCloud, not ours.
A few small preferences (like your selected theme) can sync between your own devices using your personal iCloud account, through a private storage area Apple provides for the app. Only you can read it. It is never sent to us.
Homescreen widgets read your pinned event from a private storage area shared only between the app and its own widget, on the same device. That data never leaves the phone.
Ask Saanja runs a small language model directly on your phone. The first time you use it, the app downloads the model file (about 1 GB) so it can run offline afterward. That download does not include anything about you.
Once downloaded, every chat is generated on your device. Nothing you type, and nothing Saanja replies, is sent to us or to anyone else. Chats are not saved; leaving the screen or closing the app clears the conversation.
Ask Saanja is for fun. It can make mistakes like any AI, and it is not a real person, a professional, or a source of advice you should rely on. See the Terms of Use for more.
When you take or choose a photo for a face or palm reading, it is analyzed entirely on your device to find the landmark points shown in the result. The photo is never uploaded, and we never see it.
You can optionally add a photo to a baby name or love-match card, just for fun. That photo stays on your device and is only ever shared if you choose to tap Share, which hands the finished card to iOS's own share sheet.
Saanja shows ads to stay free. The ad provider (Google) may collect an advertising identifier and use it to show ads that are more relevant to you, subject to your consent choice, EU users are asked via a consent form on first launch, per GDPR/TCF requirements, and, on iOS, the system App Tracking Transparency prompt. Declining either still lets you use every feature of the app; ads simply become less personalized, not absent. Saanja has no analytics and no other third-party trackers beyond what's needed to serve these ads.
The currency converter fetches up-to-date exchange rates from Frankfurter, a free public service backed by European Central Bank data. The request asks only for a rate table; it sends nothing about you, no identifier, and none of your events, notes, or amounts. The last rates are cached on your device so the converter still works offline. If you never open the currency converter, no such request is ever made.
The weather screen fetches the forecast from Open-Meteo, a free public service, using coordinates, either a city you pick from the built-in list, or, if you allow it, your device's current location so the forecast matches where you are. Location access is optional: if you deny it, the app simply uses the city list. When used, your coordinates are sent only to Open-Meteo to fetch the forecast; the request carries no identifier and nothing about you, your location is not stored beyond the current session, and it is never shared with anyone else. The last forecast for each place is cached on your device so it still shows offline. If you never open the weather screen, no such request is ever made.
The Space Events screen fetches upcoming rocket launches from Launch Library 2, a free public aggregator of NASA, ISRO, SpaceX, and other agencies' launch schedules. The request carries no identifier and nothing about you. Results are cached on your device so the list still shows offline.
The coffee icon opens buymeacoffee.com in your device's browser, a separate website we do not operate. Anything you do there is covered by their own privacy policy, not this one. Since it is a plain external link, we have no way to confirm whether or how much you sent; if you tell the app you did, that plain yes is remembered only on your device, purely so the app can say thanks. It is never verified or sent anywhere.
Countdown reminders and space-launch alerts are scheduled locally on your device using iOS's own notification system. Nothing about them is sent to us or anyone else.
When you tap Share, on an event, a reading, a fact, or a card from Ask Saanja, the app creates an image of that card and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there (Instagram, Messages, Photos, anywhere) is your choice, handled by iOS, not by us. The image is made on your device; nothing is uploaded to us.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the updated date at the top of this page changes with it. The in-app version ships with the app itself, so updating it means releasing a new version.
